Rozas, MD

Carlos J. Rozas, M.D., F.A.C.P., F.C.C.P.

Dr. Rozas attended the University of Miami for undergraduate and medical school. He moved to Phoenix, Arizona for his Internal Medicine training, then returned to Tampa for his training in Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine.

Dr. Rozas established the practice in 1983, and presently, this is the largest private Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine practice in the Tampa Bay area.

Dr. Rozas is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases, and Critical Care Medicine. He is a fellow of the American College Of Physicians, as well as the American College of Chest Physicians. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of South Florida College of Medicine.

His interests include general Pulmonary medicine, with a special interest in Sarcoidosis.

Smith, MDS

Mark A. Smith M.D., F.C.C.P.

Dr. Smith completed his undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Illinois in Urbana, Illinois. He then attended Southwestern Michigan Area Health Education Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where he completed his Internship and Residency training in Internal Medicine. He moved to Tampa, Florida, where he completed a Fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine at the University of South Florida, Tampa. Dr. Smith served as Chief of Staff at Tampa General Hospital.

Dr. Smith is board certified in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. He remains a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, at the University of South Florida College of Medicine since 1983.

He is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, a lifelong honor. Election to Alpha Omega Alpha is an honor signifying a lasting commitment to scholarship, leadership, professionalism, and service.

Dr. Reina

Domenick J. Reina M.D., F.C.C.P.

Dr. Reina completed his undergraduate degree at the University of the South and obtained his medical degree from University of Florida. He completed his internship and residency training in Internal Medicine as well as a Fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of South Florida, College of Medicine, Tampa, Florida.

Dr. Reina is Chief of Pulmonary Medicine at St. Joseph’s Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital North. He has also served as Chief of Staff there. He is the Co-Director of the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program and Co-Director of Respiratory Services at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Reina is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Reina is a Tampa native.

Subramanian MDS

Natarajan Subramanian M.D., F.C.C.P.

Dr. Subramanian completed his Residency in Internal Medicine (1997-2000) from Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn affiliated with SUNY at Brooklyn, NY. Subsequently, he practiced as an Internist and a primary care physician in Saint Petersburg, Florida for 5 years. He then completed a fellowship in Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine (2005-2008) at the University of South Florida, Tampa. He developed a special interest in Sleep Medicine and subsequently, completed a fellowship in Sleep Medicine from USF, Tampa in 2008-2009.

Dr. Subramanian is passionate about the treatment of various sleep disorders including Sleep Apnea, Insomnia, and Narcolepsy. He is the director of the Sleep Lab at the St. Joseph’s Hospital, Tampa, and the St. Joseph’s Hospital-North in Lutz, Florida. He is also the Co-Director of the pulmonary section St. Joseph’s Hospital, Tampa. Dr. Subramanian is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine.

Daniel Rozas, M.D.

Daniel A. Rozas, M.D.

Dr. Rozas has spent most of his life in Tampa. He graduated from Jesuit High School. Afterwards, he completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Florida. He also completed a post baccalaureate degree at the University of South Florida. He then went to Puerto Rico for medical school. He returned home to Tampa for Internal Medicine residency and Pulmonary Diseases/Critical Care Fellowship at the University of South Florida.

Dr. Rozas is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, and Critical Care Medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. His interests include general pulmonary diseases.

Michael S. Alvarez, D.O.

Michael S. Alvarez, D.O., M.P.H., F.C.C.P.

Dr. Alvarez is originally from Miami were he completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Miami and then went on to medical school at Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Alvarez also earned a Masters in Public Health while at Nova Southeastern. He completed his internal medicine training at the Cleveland Clinic Florida were he spent his final year as chief resident. He then moved to Tampa where he completed his fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care at the University of South Florida. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Diseases.

Dr. Alvarez has special interest in advanced diagnostic bronchoscopy, including Navigational Bronchoscopy for lung nodules, Endobronchial Ultrasound for the diagnosing and staging of lung cancer and Cryo-Transbronchial lung biopsies for the diagnosis of Interstitial Lung Disease. He also has interest in the management of Pulmonary Hypertension.

Janet C. Johnson, M.S.N., A.R.N.P.-B.C.

Janet C. Johnson, M.S.N., A.R.N.P.-B.C.

Jan earned her Nursing Degree at Pensacola Junior College. She worked in the Cardiovascular Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. She then moved to the Tampa Bay area in 1979 and worked in Critical Care at Tampa General Hospital including Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit and the Cardiac O.R. until 1998.

She returned to school and earned her BSN and Masters in Nursing at the University of Tampa in Family Practice. Jan’s areas of expertise include Cardiology and Pulmonary Medicine. Jan is certified as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in Family Practice and she has worked with our group since 2003.
